How to Add Google Buzz to your WordPress Blog

If you haven’t heard already, Google has taken a page out of the Twitter and Facebook idea of status updates with its new Google Buzz service. Google Buzz takes the concept of status updates a bit farther by allowing users to share photos, videos, web pages, links, blog posts, and other useful titbits a person may find on the Internet with a single click. Google Buzz also allows users to associated web sites with their account, and they can control who sees what they share. When using Google’s Buzz service you can share things with only a few people or  to the world. This can be a powerful resource for blog owners to get their content out there in front of more people because it allows for greater web sharing. Google buzz also integrates with Gmail to send updates directly to your inbox so you don’t miss anything. A truly brilliant idea from Google!

So how can we harness this new sharing medium into our WordPress blog?

Steps to Add Google Buzz to your WordPress blog

Step 1: download the WP-Google-buzz plug-in from WordPress.org

Step 2: Extract the files on to your Desktop.

Step 3: upload the extracted folder to to your blogs wp-content/plugins folder

Step 4: Login to your blog and active the plugin.

Step 5: Configure the plugin options, choose the button style and location and click Save Changes.

That’s it! if you done it correctly you should now see a new Google Buzz button on your blog posts just like the one on the bottom right-hand corner of this blog post. (What the button looks like depends on which button style you chose in the options.)

now you can use the new Google Buzz medium to help promote your blogs content, and further your sites web sharing.
